The University of Alabama English Language Institute (ELI), in conjunction with the UA School of Law, is pleased to offer a semi-annual four-week certificate program in U.S. Law and Legal English.

Most participants are either practicing lawyers/judges in their home countries or law students in the U.S. or in their home countries. However, any nonnative speaker of English who is interested in law is welcome to apply for admission to the program. To fully benefit from this program, it is recommended that participants have English proficiency equivalent to a minimum TOEFL score of 500/173. Participants must be at least 17 years old.
