English Lite

English Lite courses are designed for non-native speakers of English who live in the Tuscaloosa area, have busy schedules, and want to improve and practice their English in a relaxed setting on a part-time basis.

Unlike classes in the ELI's Intensive English Program, which meet every day, English Lite classes meet just two days per week: typically either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Two types of English Lite classes are offered: English Lite Conversation (4 hours per week), and English Lite Grammar (2 hours per week). These classes are offered at three levels of proficiency: beginning, intermediate, and advanced.

English Lite classes are available in the mornings and evenings, as indicated in the schedule below:

English Lite Grammar

Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 - 9:50 a.m.*

English Lite Conversation

Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:00 - 11:50 a.m.*

English Lite at Night (integrated skills)

Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

NOTES

English Lite classes begin six times each year and last 7-8 weeks, according to the following sessions:

Fall 1, 2005: August 22 - October 17
Fall 2, 2005: October 19 - December 16
Spring 1, 2006: January 9 - March 6
Spring 2, 2006: March 6 - May 5
