Professional Enhancement Program for International Teachers of English as a Foreign Language

The ELI's Professional Enhancement Program (PEP) is designed to meet the needs of international teachers of English as a foreign language (EFL) who wish to improve their own English proficiency as well as their EFL teaching expertise. The program lasts three weeks and is offered twice each year, in January--February and in July--August. Instruction is held for four to five hours per day during the three-week program and focuses on language-teaching methodology, communication skills, and instructional technology. A cultural component and observations of ELI intensive English classes are also included in the program.
